2022 Top 10 Wedding Trends

Out with the old and in with the new - a new year, comes new trends! Take a look at the top 10 wedding trends we predict we’ll be seeing a lot of in 2022.

1. Virtual Wedding Invitations & Save the Dates With a focus on more eco-friendly alternatives, in 2022, we’ll see a large uptick in digital wedding invitations and save the dates. Long gone are the days of waiting for RSVPs via airmail as we’ll start to see many couples prefer e-vites for more efficient response time!

2. Outdoor Weddings With heightened fears of indoor gatherings offset by the pandemic, we will start to see a huge shift from indoor venues to outdoor receptions. We’ve seen couples transform outdoor spaces into magical make-shift venues. I mean, who doesn’t love receptions overlooking the sunset and stars!

3. Weekday Weddings As couples re-pivot their original wedding plans, we will start to see a shift in weekday weddings as venues become overbooked due to the surge in backlogged weddings.

4. Supporting Local Vendors More and more newly engaged couples are opting for local vendors over big box ones. Whether its a balloon vendor to a local cake business, we’ll definitely see a rise in local vendors being used at wedding receptions.

5. Elevated Entertainment Everyone is looking for a big WOW factor to impress their guests this year. From live bands and DIY bouquet stations to interactive photo booths, food trucks and onsite crepe stations, there are hundreds of different ways to implement one of a kind entertainment to your special night.

6. Neon Signs In the past year, we’ve seen a huge demand for catchy phrase & personalized neon signs. We predict this trend will continue on into the new year. Neon signs are a perfect way to add a special touch to your wedding decor and come in a bunch of different colors!

7. Bohemian & Rustic Inspired Weddings 2022 will continue to be the year of lace, Pampas grass & wooden/grassy aesthetic! We foresee a lot of bohemian chic weddings coming up and we’re not complaining!

8. Plant Based & Vegan Inspired Food Options More than ever before, people are making the conscious decision to switch to plant based and beyond meat food alternatives. With this in mind, it might be a smart idea to adapt to this change and offer plant based and vegan inspired food choices to adhere to those individuals who may have a preference for this.

9. Smaller Wedding Cakes Once upon a time, we all thought large wedding cakes were timeless and a staple to have at weddings to serve as your main dessert. Now, we see more couples opting for smaller cakes and instead, having more options for a variety. Some examples of this include: cupcakes, ice cream, French macaroons, crème brulee and apple crumble.

10. Smaller Guests Counts Couples are now opting for smaller, more intimate weddings. Due to the result of COVID-19 and government regulations continuously changing, couples are making the decision to limit their guest lists to close friends, families, and neighbors.
